Car Styling
Car styling is an area of car tuning that focuses on the outside of the car and how it looks. Car stylers focus on the body of the car, its paint and decals, its wheels, interior, even its upholstery. Car stylers can specialize in one specific area, such as wheels or interior upholstery, or provide more generalized aesthetic services that make each vehicle unique.
Car stylists begin with a stock vehicle and discuss with the owner what he or she wants to get out of the stylists' skills. Some subtle styling instances include replacing an older instrument panel with an entirely digital in-dash instrument panel, or retrimming the seats, door and side panels, and even the dash in leather. While at first glance these improvements aren't flamboyant, on second glance they can really create a car interior that has a classy, even regal, look.
An entire interior makeover is an example of a more extravagant modification. In such a situation, a stylist may replace the stock steering wheel with an aftermarket one-there are many kinds available, including ones that look like flight yokes-rip out the dashboard, and place the instrument dials in an unusual location such as the center console. The stylist can then retrim the entire interior in a complimentary or contrasting color to draw attention to the interior, which will end up being like none ever seen before.
Car tuners and stylists can be individuals working on their own vehicles on the weekends, or people who have turned a hobby into a business. Those who have boundless imaginations and a love for cars can turn the blandest stock vehicle into a one-of-a-kind rod that reflects its owner's style, personality, and tastes for all to see.
